Miriam Goes Raj

Miriam's return to Edinburgh was less joyous than her acquittal at the magistrates in Dover, where she had been arrested trying to blockade deportation buses heading towards the channel tunnel. Opening the door to her flat, she instinctively knew her Tunisian lover Faisal was gone. But worse than that, he had taken her beloved dog Hugo with him! She took comfort that this was not like her last breakup. Her teenage marriage to 'Crazy Dougie' ended with his televised incarceration after an international incident that involved the White House. Now with two failed relationships behind her, Miriam began to think her weird parents were right. She would return to university and finish her degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. Duly qualified Miriam takes up employment in a Bangalore call centre owned by the unscrupulous British entrepreneur Sir Lawrence Glasscock. Very soon her teaching turns into enlightenment. Unrest leads to a strike; cold blooded KGB trained assassins are flown in to deal with the strike leaders. A visit to the great Swami Ramakandi only makes matters worse.
